About The Position

Provide high-quality training for underground mining operations. Responsible for developing and delivering training programs that ensure all personnel are proficient in the latest mining techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage. This role requires a strong background in underground mining, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring. Education: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Redpath train the trainer program. 3. Qualified MSHA instructor (Surface & Underground) 4. Certification in adult education training or a related field is highly desirable. Work Experience: 1. Proven experience in a training or instructional role within the mining industry. Knowledge Required: 1. In depth knowledge of underground mining techniques equipment and safety regulations. 2. Ability to develop engaging and effective training materials and programs. 3. Must be able to demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials. 4. Knowledge of the mining industry underground environment. 5. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively. 6. Proficiency in using training software and tools as well as standard office software for example Microsoft Office. Other Requirements: 1. Ability to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical. 2. Strong organizational and record keeping skills. 3. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. 4. Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence. 5. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. 6. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. 7. High level of attention to detail, neatness and accuracy. 8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 9. Commitment to promoting a safe and productive work environment 1. Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for underground mining personnel, including new hires and experienced miners. 2. Deliver classroom-based training sessions on various topics such as mining methods, equipment operation, safety protocols and regulatory compliance. 3. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as simulators, hands-on-exercises and group discussions to enhance learning and retention. 4. Develop the supervisor cohort through the delivery of soft skills training including effective communication, teamwork, conflict resolution and leadership fundamentals. 5. Assess trainee performance through evaluations, tests and practical assessments to ensure understanding and competency. 6. Stay updated with industry advancements, safety personnel and management to ensure training programs align with company goals and industry standards. 7. Maintain accurate records of training sessions attendance and training progress. 8. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to trainees addressing any questions or concerns they may have. 9. Facilitate high-risk work training (eg working at heights, confined space, manual handling, permit to work). 10. Travel to all projects as required to conduct training, development and implement improvement strategies. 11. Collaborate with project leadership and HSET teams to identify training needs and gaps. 12. Annually evaluate and improve training programs based on feedback and changing industry needs. 13. Ensure all training activities comply with company policies industry standards and legal requirements. 14. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver's License and acceptable driving record. 15. Responsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments. 16. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner. 17. Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures. 18. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information. 19. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath's Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). 20. Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations. 21. Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility. 22.
