About The Position
Brown and Root has an immediate opening for an Fire Safety Technician in Wando SC serving at the INEOS Aromatics site. The emergency response technician should have a working knowledge of fixed and mobile fire equipment and general fire service/emergency response knowledge. Basic understanding of computer programs, Microsoft office suite and the use of handheld scanners are essential. Knowledge of NFPA and SC Fire Code a plus. - Min of HS Diploma, 2 yr associates preferred

Responsibilities
- Respond to and assist with on-site and off-site emergencies
- Monthly inspections of fixed and portable fire extinguishing and alarm systems
- Monthly inspections of onsite medical equipment and supplies
- Weekly inspection, operation and exercising of fire, hazmat, and spill response apparatus and watercraft
- Perform annual fire hydrant and HVH flow, testing, and maintenance
- Assist with annual off-site fire brigade training
- Assist outside vendors with annual NFPA required and regulatory testing and inspections
- Assist with hurricane preparation and serve on plant hurricane/Emergency team
- Perform annual fire hose testing
- Perform annual Level A suit testing
- Monthly inspection and operation of SCBA compressor system, take quarterly air samples
- Attend and support Fire, Rescue, HAZMAT, Medical, and Spill response training for the site ERT
- Maintain all ERT equipment and buildings in a state of readiness and cleanliness
- Generate and write reports
- Support Plant Outages and Turnarounds
- Other duties as assigned
