About The Position

The position involves working closely with local managers to implement and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) processes and programs, including the EPS Global HSE Management System (HSE 360). The role requires ensuring that necessary HSE inspections and audits are conducted, and corrective actions are taken when needed. The individual will also be responsible for delivering HSE elements of new employee orientation programs, leading incident investigations, and promoting injury prevention strategies. Collaboration with site leadership and employees is essential to solve problems and ensure that corrective actions are validated to prevent similar incidents in the future. The position also involves maintaining open communication lines with employees and leadership, reviewing HSE programs and policies, and ensuring job hazard analyses are current. Additional responsibilities include initiating work orders for equipment repairs, coordinating with HR and Workman’s Compensation personnel during injuries, managing hazardous communication information, and acting as the primary contact for HSE inspections.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in a field related to HSE or science or a related technical discipline.
  • 2-5 years of prior HSE experience.
  • ASP, CSP, or CSHO certification preferred.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate Federal, State, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to provide training on HSE related topics.

Responsibilities

  • Support local managers in implementing and maintaining HSE processes and programs.
  • Ensure required HSE inspections and audits are performed and corrective actions are taken.
  • Deliver HSE elements of new employee orientation programs.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations and promote injury prevention.
  • Partner with site leadership and employees to solve problems and validate corrective actions.
  • Create open lines of communication with employees and leadership.
  • Review HSE programs, policies, and procedures and recommend changes.
  • Ensure job hazard analyses are up to date and communicated to affected employees.
  • Initiate work orders for equipment repair as needed for HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate with HR and Workman’s Compensation personnel when injuries occur.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets and hazardous communication information.
  • Manage recordkeeping and reporting for environmental permits.
  • Act as primary contact for HSE inspections.
  • Participate in meetings and perform toolbox talks.
  • Be available outside of normal hours including evenings or weekends.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
