About The Position

The position involves working closely with local managers to implement and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) processes and programs, including the EPS Global HSE Management System (HSE 360). The role requires ensuring that necessary HSE inspections and audits are conducted, and corrective actions are taken when needed. The individual will also be responsible for delivering HSE elements of new employee orientation programs, leading incident investigations, and promoting injury prevention strategies. Additionally, the role includes maintaining communication with employees and leadership, reviewing HSE programs, and ensuring job hazard analyses are current. The position may require initiating work orders for equipment repairs related to HSE, coordinating with HR during injury incidents, and managing recordkeeping for environmental permits. The individual will act as the primary contact for HSE inspections and participate in meetings and toolbox talks as necessary. Availability outside of normal hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in a field related to HSE or science or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 2-5 years of prior HSE experience.
  • ASP, CSP, or CSHO certification preferred.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate Federal, State, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to provide training for HSE related topics.

Responsibilities

  • Support local managers in implementing and maintaining HSE processes and programs.
  • Ensure required HSE inspections and audits are performed and corrective actions are taken.
  • Deliver HSE elements of new employee orientation programs.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations and promote injury prevention.
  • Partner with site leadership and employees to solve problems and ensure corrective actions.
  • Create open lines of communication with employees and leadership.
  • Review HSE programs, policies, and procedures and recommend changes.
  • Ensure job hazard analyses are up to date and communicated to employees.
  • Initiate work orders for equipment repair related to HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate with HR and Workman’s Compensation personnel when injuries occur.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets and hazardous communication information.
  • Manage recordkeeping and reporting for environmental permits.
  • Act as primary contact for HSE inspections.
  • Participate in meetings and perform toolbox talks as needed.
  • Be available outside of normal hours as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
