About The Position

As a Health Safety Environmental (HSE) Specialist II at Tessenderlo Kerley, you will have 5 - 10 years HSE program experience an emphasis on environmental program coordination. You will be responsible for supporting HSE programs for (16 TKI 3- Tiger-Sul) 19 chemical manufacturing plants, laboratories, farms, and the Corporate Office. Key Accountabilities: Assist with periodic HSE assessments of facilities to identify workplace hazards and procedures, support efforts that ensure regulatory compliance, and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate programs associated with Occupational Medical Monitoring, Fertilizer Registration, and Safety Data Sheet Management. Help lead HSE programs at the Corporate HQ office and Product Innovation Center. Support preparation of HSE procedures and corporate-wide HSE initiatives to reduce operational risks. Support development and delivery of HSE training content to employees. Assist analysis of current and proposed government regulatory standards (OSHA, DOT, EPA and other entities) to ensure compliance and possible implications to the business. Support incident investigations and root cause analysis. Serve as a member of the Central Regulatory Group, present topics at monthly meetings. Support resolution of complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices. Complete environmental reports (Tier II, TRI, Hazardous Waste, Pollution Prevention, Air Emission Inventories, TSCA). Hazardous waste management program. Environmental & safety plan development (ERP, SWPPP, SPCC, Site Security Plants, RMP).

Requirements

  • BS degree in Science, Engineering, or HSE-related discipline and 5 – 10 years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze regulations and assist operating facilities with compliance strategies.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA regulations, applicable state requirements, and industry standards.
  • Able to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for workplace hazards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience presenting to large groups of people.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to be full face respirator certified.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20%.
