Job Summary This intermediate level position provides technical guidance, develops, maintains and communicates effective health, safety and environmental programs, policies and procedures in order to safeguard employees, facilities and surrounding communities and to ensure compliance with government policy, regulations and practices. Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within a 60-mile radius of the Mansfield Field Office (1970 Highway 84, Mansfield, LA 71052) to be considered for this position.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) theories, concepts, laws, regulations, codes, standards (e.g., CCA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, OSHA, ESA, NEPA, NIOSH, API), and federal/state requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental disciplines and oil and gas industry operations.
  • Proficient in instruction for both individuals and groups, including evaluating educational effectiveness.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance on environmental programs to all levels of management.
  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum: 2 - 5 years related work experience
  • Ability to possess a valid driver's license
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.
  • Availability for on-call duties, including nights and weekends
  • Willingness to engage in occasional business-related travel

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree - from accredited university - Environmental Science, Health, Safety, Engineering, Law or related field
  • Preferred: Master's degree - from accredited university - Environmental Science, Health, Safety, Engineering, Law or related field

Responsibilities

  • Supports the implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental Programs; including the development of programs, procedures and standards for compliance management
  • Inspects or evaluates workplace environments, equipment or practices to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and government regulations
  • Investigates routine accidents and complaints to determine the root cause, circumstances, contributing factors and corrective actions
  • Develops recommendations and follow-up procedures to prevent accident recurrence
  • Conducts routine health, safety and environmental audits to assess field operations, buildings, facilities, tools and equipment
  • Collaborates with engineers, recommending measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, materials, potentially hazardous conditions or equipment
  • Promotes safety-conscious work performance and provides safety performance measures and training programs to operational personnel, contract personnel and local community constituents
  • Manages environmental programs, including Spill Response, NORM, SPCC, Waste Profiling, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
