About The Position

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standards. This role promotes a culture of safety awareness and accountability, focusing on risk reduction, employee training, and incident prevention. The Safety Manager partners with all departments to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in occupational health, safety, and environmental management in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading safety programs and initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks, interpret data, and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified training or credentials in ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain company-wide safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Facilitate safety committee meetings and lead cross-functional initiatives to strengthen safety culture.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of incidents, metrics, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor safety and environmental performance indicators, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and oversee preparedness plans.
  • Maintain communication with regulatory agencies and ensure company compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs in coordination with HR.
  • Lead internal audits for ISO 45001 (Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) compliance.
  • Partner with leadership and supervisors to proactively resolve safety concerns and improve workplace conditions.
