This position reports to: Manufacturing Unit Manager __ Your role and responsibilities: ABB's manufacturing facility in Mebane, NC is searching for a driven, experienced, and accountability-driven HSE professional to join their leadership team to help drive the positive, organic, and safe growth within the plant and enable operations to thrive in a robust Safety Culture. In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a team of HSE experts. Each day, you will make sure the team keeps developing capabilities and skills, supporting the business in the implementation of policies, practices and programs. You will also showcase your expertise by driving behavioral change and HSE learning within the organization. The work model for the role is onsite in Mebane, NC (#LI-Onsite).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 10+ years experience in the following: Fabrication, Assembly operations, material handling, distribution operations.
  • Ability to build relationships, speak/present effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees comprised of various levels of personnel, from senior executives to facility personnel.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years HSE leadership experience plus a combination of the following (or equivalent): OSHA Authorized 30 Hour Instructor, EMT Certification, First Responder Certification, ASP or CSP designations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SAP (preferred).
  • Change Management Experience Safety Culture implementation, continuous improvement, and long-term effectiveness in program.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting line managers and supervisors in the organization in understanding obligations, liabilities and requirements
  • Ensuring appropriate tools and measures are in place and used effectively, at the same time reporting the HSE incidents.
  • Reporting on HSE performance and progress with respect to the Group objectives
  • Drive behavioral change and ensuring HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards and best practices
