About the position

The HSE Lead is responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental operations within the organization. This role involves conducting incident investigations, mentoring HSE Representatives, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures. The HSE Lead acts as a liaison between HSE leadership and representatives, while also participating in safety inspections and training sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead incident investigations as requested by HSE Operations leadership
  • Work as a liaison between HSE Representatives and HSE Operations leadership
  • Analyze and review leading and lagging indicators of HSE performance
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate performance of new and less experienced HSE Representatives
  • Assist HSE Supervisor and Manager with writing, updating, and developing safety policies and procedures
  • Perform compliance inspections or other HSE Representative duties when requested
  • Conduct Wireline operations inspections
  • Assist HSE Operations Supervisor and Manager with employee injury case management
  • Conduct silica and other sampling as directed by HSE management
  • Respond to and investigate safety incidents
  • Participate in site-specific safety stand down meetings
  • Maintain regular safety communication with organizational personnel
  • Collaborate with the organization's business unit leadership to improve safety awareness
  • Conduct the organization's Life Saving Rules Observations, use stop work authority when necessary, and perform immediate corrective action
  • Attend all required leadership training
  • Transport injured personnel to medical facilities when requested by HSE Operations Supervisor or Manager
  • Safely drive a company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions
  • Maintain compliance with HSE policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in the HSE Representative 3 role, preferred
  • Demonstrate mastery of all duties associated with the HSE Representative 3 role, required
  • Maintaining a current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record, required
  • English speaker, required (English-Spanish bilingual, preferred)
  • Willing to frequently travel throughout the Permian and Delaware Basins (West Texas and New Mexico)
  • Strong leadership characteristics, able to mentor, train, and evaluate the performance of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively interact with contractors, vendors, and personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Can exercise independent judgment, professionalism, and discretion while performing duties
  • Good organization and time management skills, able to prioritize workload
  • Must be driven, self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic
  • Flexible, can easily handle changes to HSE program requirements and organizational policies
  • Proficient working in Microsoft 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
  • Must be physically able to safely perform duties and operate a vehicle during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days, nights, weekends, or holidays
  • Must be physically able to safely operate a vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions
