About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and independent HSE Field Representative to join our team in the Bakken oilfield. This role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture across our upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, including pipeline services, roustabout work, trucking, construction, and fabrication. The ideal candidate will conduct field observations, perform audits of worksites, shops, and equipment, distribute and track PPE, and ensure full compliance with all applicable safety regulations. You must be comfortable working independently in both field and office environments, with occasional after-hours availability for incident response and on-call duties. This position plays a critical role in supporting safe and efficient operations across all Badlands Contracting LLC projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to work safely and effectively communicate with Team, clients, contractors, and leadership.

  • Basic High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety-sensitive role within the oil and gas industry
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Current or ability to immediately obtain the following certifications: PEC Safeland (or equivalent SafeLandUSA), H2S Clear, First Aid/CPR/AED, Respiratory Protection with rescue stimulation, and other client-specific orientations as required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA standards regarding oil and gas industry

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with upstream/midstream oilfield operations (pipelines, roustabout, workover, trucking).
  • Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of hazard recognition and risk mitigation in oilfield environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage time effectively and collaborate well with field crews, supervisors, and management.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA , DOT , MSHA , EPA , WSI , MHA DOT , TERO , and other relevant standards.
  • Uphold and reinforce company HSE policies, programs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all field and shop activities.
  • Lead or support safety meetings, pre-task briefings, stand-downs, and toolbox talks on-site.
  • Perform regular field audits, equipment inspections, and worksite observations to identify hazards and ensure safe practices.
  • Conduct incident and near-miss investigations, including root-cause analysis, reporting, case management, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Distribute, track, and maintain records for PPE and safety equipment.
  • Respond to incidents as needed, including after-hours and on-call availability.
  • Maintain open communication with the HSE Manager and operations teams regarding safety performance and concerns.
  • Maintain updated documents and reports concerning incidents, audits, and inspections.
  • Drive the development and implementation of innovative safety solutions, creating new safety protocols and enhancing existing processes to support Badlands Contracting, LLC commitment to operational excellence and employee well-being.
