About The Position

Perma-Pipe in Lebanon, TN is hiring a Safety Engineer Specialist! We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Engineer Specialist to oversee health and safety practices in our pipe manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, implementing safety programs, conducting training, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the shop. The ideal candidate will have a background in safety engineering or a related field, with OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • First Aid / CPR Certified.
  • Occupational Health preferred, not required.
  • Experience with pipe manufacturing or metal fabrication processes is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and other applicable safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead training sessions and conduct effective incident investigations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments within the pipe manufacturing environment.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures specific to pipe manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for new hires and ongoing employee development.
  • Maintain safety records, including incident reports, training logs, and inspection documentation.
  • Lead the plant safety committee and facilitate regular meetings.
  • Recommend and procure safety equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Serve as the main contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
  • Foster a safety-first culture by engaging with employees and encouraging active participation in safety initiatives.
