About The Position

Health & Safety Engineer II – Honeywell Aerospace (Torrance, CA) Drive safety excellence at our Torrance manufacturing site! As a HSE Engineer II, you’ll champion occupational health and safety programs, ensure compliance with regulations, and partner with leaders and employees to foster a safe workplace. This role is onsite, hands-on, impactful, and critical to our aerospace business. You will report directly to our Sr HSE Manager and work out of our manufacturing plant in Torrance, CA in-person. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Implements and maintains company Health & Safety programs while ensuring compliance with local, state and federal health and safety regulations. Proactively involved in the recognition, evaluation and control of Health & Safety hazards. Improves facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes Health & Safety recommendations accordingly. Proactively works with leadership and front-line employees to create a safe work environment and resolve Health & Safety concerns. Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating Health & Safety policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Serves as contact with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on best practices and pre-established guidelines to meet the requirements of the job. Works under immediate supervision of the Torrance HSE&F Manager.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of directly related experience in occupational health and safety/injury and illness prevention.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a US Person, which is defined as, US citizen, a US permanent resident, or have protected status in the US under asylum or refugee status.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering or related discipline
  • Certifications in safety engineering and/or industrial hygiene (CIH, CSP)
  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing industry.
