About The Position
The position involves providing leadership, organization, and supervision for the high school baseball program. This includes planning practices, managing games, and overseeing player development. The coach is expected to build and maintain a positive, disciplined team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and character. Additionally, the role requires designing and implementing training programs that enhance individual skills, team performance, and player safety. Collaboration with school administration and athletic staff is essential to ensure the program aligns with district policies and goals. The coach will act as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, promoting academic success and personal growth. Responsibilities also include organizing and managing equipment, team budgets, and fundraising efforts as needed, as well as engaging with the community, parents, and fans to build support for the program. Staying current on IHSA (Illinois High School Association) regulations and ensuring team compliance is also a key responsibility.
