About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Robotics Coach to lead students in the design, programming, and operation of robots for local and regional competitions. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity and creativity, helping students apply science, technology, and engineering, and math principles in real-world, hands-on ways. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership development while maintaining a safe and engaging environment for all participants.

Requirements

• Strong interest or experience in robotics, engineering, or STEM education.
• Ability to mentor and motivate students in both technical and soft skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and the mission of PPHS.
• Must pass a background check.
• Availability for after-school practices and weekend competitions.

Responsibilities

• Coach students through the full robotics process: design, build, programming, and competition preparation.
• Provide guidance in troubleshooting mechanical and coding challenges.
• Promote teamwork, safety, and inclusion within the robotics team environment.
• Coordinate practices, competitions, and community events with the Athletic Director and school leadership.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory in good condition.
• Encourage students to apply STEM principles and critical thinking in all aspects of the program.
• Support students in developing project documentation, presentations, and teamwork skills.
• Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
