About The Position

Assist in directing and managing the overall program of instrumental music for the Junior High and High School as well as assist and provide piano accompanist for choir program. Provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular instrumental activities and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and district requirements. Plan activities to achieve district, region, and state recognition.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Knowledge of overall operation of choir program and provide piano accompanist for choir program as well as individual students.
Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program
Ability to manage budget
Knowledge of state and UIL policies governing band and choir
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
