HS&E Summer Intern
About The Position
Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is one of the most technically advanced designers and manufacturers of lightweight composite aerospace structures, subassemblies and components. For more than 50 years, AEC has innovated advanced composite solutions for defense and commercial industries in applications from large commercial transports to fighter jets and commercial and military rotorcraft. Our composite design and fabrication expertise can be found on many defense programs. AEC provides a wide range of products including complete structural assemblies, flight critical components, primary and secondary structural elements for platforms such as the F-35 Lightning II, the CH-53K Heavy-lift Helicopter and the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM). AEC SLC is supportive of student education through experiential development. We are currently looking for an intern to support various improvement projects in our EHS department.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a : Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to complete multiple projects on schedule with minimal supervision
- Must be able to commute to the facility .
- As a Department of Defense Contractor we are required to hire US Persons.
- Visa sponsorship is not being offered.
Responsibilities
- Assist in procedural updates to multiple EHS procedures.
- Exposure monitoring for hazardous dusts, hex chrome, and noise.
- Assess work areas for ergonomic hazards.
- Participate in offering training on safety related topics.
- Conduct PPE assessments and JHAs.
- Conduct regular EHS audits to identify non-compliances.
- Aid in preparation and distribution of weekly, non-sensitive EHS metrics.
- Conduct chemical inventories.
- Participate in incident investigations and root case analysis.
