About The Position

The position involves serving as a positive role model to players and parents while coaching basketball. The coach is responsible for teaching basketball techniques, rules, strategies, and tactics, as well as conditioning athletes for endurance, strength, and agility. The role includes presiding over team activities, including scheduled practices and games, and instilling values such as sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and responsibility in the players. The coach will also monitor players' personal conduct during games and manage equipment and playing facilities responsibly.

Requirements

• Ability to work well with children of various ages.
• Basic knowledge of basketball.
• Willingness to learn and follow District rules and guidelines regarding youth sports.
• Prior coaching experience is helpful but not required.
• Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.
• Previous experience in coaching children in some type of sport.
• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful coaching performance.
• Must have or be able to acquire a Finger Print Clearance Card.
