About the position
The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS) is a nationally recognized urban school district that serves approximately 22,000 students and 60+ different languages are spoken in the homes of our students. KCKPS is home to Sumner Academy, the #6 highest rated High School in the Nation and #1 High School in Kansas according to the US News rankings. Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach as directed with organizing and directing coaching staff
- Collect physical examination forms
- Collect insurance release forms
- Report injuries to school nurse
- Take inventory and submit a list of equipment needs
- Check out and collect all equipment
- Keep accurate records and reports of lost or stolen equipment
- Provide a roster of players
- Provide the Athletic Director a list of athletes who are to receive awards at the end of the season and plan the awards ceremony
- Ensure proper team conduct on trips and during contests
- Know all rules pertaining to the sport
- Treat injuries or attend to athletes
- Clean and maintain equipment and uniforms
- Organize practice sessions
Requirements
- Certified teacher or must qualify for Rule 10 approval through the Kansas State High School Activities Association
