About The Position

The HRIS Support Specialist plays a vital role in enabling Liberty University to optimize the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM)/HRIS system and drive business value. This position serves as front-line production support for Workday and other HR systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and timely issue resolution. In addition, this hybrid role supports HR Communications and Branding by creating Workday focused content that is high-quality, visually consistent content, including videos, graphics, and digital resources that strengthen HR’s ability to engage employees and represent Liberty University’s brand. This role will also design and deliver engaging, accessible training materials such as Canvas-based courses, on-demand video tutorials, and interactive guides that support system usage. The HRIS Support Specialist collaborates closely with HR leaders to identify Workday training needs, translate complex processes into user-friendly content, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience in video content creation, graphic design, or digital media production.
  • Experience in Human Resources Operations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service ability.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or comparable program.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • At least 1 year working with enterprise business systems.
  • At least 3 years working with enterprise business systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support for Workday and other HR technologies, troubleshooting issues and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Act as first line of support for technical issues, investigating issues, finding solutions and escalating to appropriate HRIS contacts.
  • Manage and respond to support tickets related to security permissions and HR systems.
  • Guide end-users on Workday security permissions and provide recommendations on permission assignments within supervisory organizations.
  • Participate in data management activities to maintain accurate, usable HR data.
  • Communicate Workday updates and impactful system changes to end users.
  • Maintain a hands-on, technical role with excellent knowledge of human resources business processes and data.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Workday training materials that support HR processes and technologies, as well as align with the HR brand.
  • Create engaging content such as user guides, video tutorials, e-learning modules (Canvas courses), and reference documentation tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Help maintain HR intranet pages and digital content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and engagement.
