The HRIS/Payroll Manager at Muskegon Community College is responsible for overseeing all HRIS operations, including timekeeping and payroll systems. This role focuses on driving process improvements within the Human Resources department, ensuring efficient and effective management of HRIS and payroll functions. The ideal candidate will enhance and scale processes, procedures, and system functionality to support the college's mission.

  • Manage all HRIS operations including timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process cycles.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Human Resources leaders to support the organization through HRIS and payroll data.
  • Understand and manage KPIs, assist in developing dashboards, identifying trends, and recommending data-driven solutions.
  • Assess HRIS system and user utilization to recommend training, customization, and enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain HRIS solution standards and controls to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Lead HRIS related projects for system upgrades, modifications, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Provide ongoing assistance to users of HRIS systems and assist with user training.
  • Support the administration of HR applications, including role and security provisioning, data corrections, and workflow reviews.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in HRIS and payroll management.
  • Previous HRIS experience, preferably in Michigan with Office of Retirement Services and Ellucian Colleague skills, reporting and analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote an inclusive working environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a focus on process improvement.
  • Capable of working independently and managing complex issues.
  • Advanced technology experience, especially in Microsoft Excel including formulas & pivot tables.
  • Experience with social media and research capabilities.
  • Competitive salary up to $78,000 depending on experience.
  • Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
