About The Position

The HRC Apprentice position is designed for high school students who are interested in gaining practical experience in a refinery setting. The apprentice will shadow and observe refinery personnel to learn about the day-to-day operations and administrative support areas within the refinery. This role emphasizes the importance of safety procedures and adherence to guidelines while working in and around the process areas of the refinery.

Requirements

• High school student at Junior status or higher upon entering the program
• Must be dually enrolled in the modern manufacturing program at Shelton State community college
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must have a written recommendation from a teacher

Responsibilities

• Know proper safety procedures for operating in and around the process areas in the refinery
• Read and follow all applicable guidelines and procedures
• Shadow/observe refinery personnel to obtain working knowledge of day-to-day operation of refinery and administrative support areas
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
