Serves as primary mechanic to perform skilled work and resolve technical issues in the installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HRAC) systems' electronic and mechanical instruments, controls, and circuits. Instructs and provides technical assistance and guidance to HRAC Mechanics required to perform skilled technical work in installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of process controls, instrumentation, and data reporting systems/subsystems for HRAC systems. Installs, implements, modifies, upgrades, and performs Preventive Maintenance to control systems to include, software programming and programs new controls. This position is distinguished from the HRAC Mechanic position in that the HRAC Control and Instrumentation Mechanic performs, instructs, and assists other HRAC Mechanics in the performance of the tasks contained herein, and installs and programs new controls, modifies programs of existing controls and provides technical expertise required to resolve issues associated with these tasks. This position is distinguished from the Instrument Mechanic in that it deals solely with the controls, instrumentation, and related software requirements of HRAC systems.
