About The Position

The HR Training & Engagement Specialist II position at the State of Vermont Department of Human Resources focuses on curriculum design and the delivery of training programs for state employees. The role emphasizes adult learning theories and instructional design principles to create engaging learning solutions that align with strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will facilitate both virtual and in-class training, assess training needs, and coach supervisors, while collaborating with other trainers and utilizing technology to enhance learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Professional certification, or bachelor's degree or higher in adult learning, human resources, organizational development, leadership development, or public administration.
  • Four (4) years or more of experience that includes supervisory experience or training others in supervisory skills.
  • Experience in developing training programs, teaching or facilitating programs for adults, providing consulting services, or one-on-one coaching of adult learners.

  • Hands-on experience developing and delivering online training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Create and facilitate in-class and virtual training for State employees, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Assess training and related needs for services.
  • Coach supervisors at a professional level.
  • Collaborate with other trainers within the department and across state government.
  • Participate in meetings and planning sessions.
  • Use technology to facilitate training activities.
  • Generate new content through research and engagement.
