About The Position

The HR Supervisor will partner with the HR Manager to support the development, implementation and administration of Human Resources policies, practices, strategies, and services across the MSD Davenport plant. This role will provide support to a broad array of HR generalist activities including but not limited to recruitment & selection, onboarding, employee, leadership coaching & development, compensation, benefits, and other HR processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3 years of human resources and/or labor relations work experience
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in business or human resources from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience managing a direct team member.
  • PHR or SPHR or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • HR experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment (FAA/DOT/AS9100)

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key point of contact for approximately 350+ hourly non-exempt and 100+salaried exempt employees to connect with the human resources department, while promoting Eaton values and providing courteous and timely service to all employees
  • Administer and educate coach Supervisors and Ops Managers with regards to interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, process and policies related to labor relations
  • Work in collaboration and in guidance with HR Manager & Corp LR/ER to investigate, administer disciplines, terminations, grievance management and arbitration to address employee/labor relations matters including weekly, monthly meetings with Union Committee members.
  • Support HR Manager in Union contract negotiation and ongoing labor relations activities.
  • Assist the HR Manager with local compensation for both salaried and hourly workforce, including benchmarking within Eaton & external marketplace data.
  • Lead hourly and salaried talent acquisition and management activities, including building and maintaining diversity and veteran outreach, and serving as a liaison with Eaton University Relations team.
  • Strengthens employee retention and engagement through establishing standard onboarding and orientation processes with integrated efforts from various functions.
  • Coach and influence leadership regarding policies, practices, laws, and regulations to ensure all human resource policies and programs follow local and governmental regulatory requirements and are driving an engaged culture.
  • Serves as local subject matter expert for employee benefits and payroll questions, coordinating with remote centralized HR service center and payroll teams as necessary, and coordinating benefits enrollment meetings, communications, and processes.
  • Support statutory compliance related to state and federal laws in assistance with Corp Compliance team and particularly support such as AS9100 audit, FAA Drug Abatement program, internal & external audit.
  • Facilitates and participates in company-wide committees in support of the overall Eaton goals, such as employee engagement, wellness, and community involvement.
