About The Position

The HR Summer Internship at UTHealth Houston offers students a paid, on-site opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources, specifically within the Talent Experience team. Interns will work closely with seasoned HR professionals to understand HR operations, focusing on enhancing the candidate experience through Talent Acquisition and Employee Services. The internship runs from June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025, and includes participation in monthly engagement events and training activities.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student or recent graduate of a bachelor's program with a major in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or closely related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong motivation and capacity to learn.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the recruitment and pre-employment teams to understand their processes.
  • Analyze survey data to identify gaps between candidate expectations and actual experiences.
  • Implement surveys to gather insights and drive improvements in the candidate journey.
  • Attend and complete all training modules, webinars, tours, and other training activities as scheduled.
  • Facilitate at least one bi-weekly meeting with the internship cohort.
