About The Position

USALCO, LLC is a leading provider of aluminum-based component products used in water treatment, pulp and paper manufacturing, the making of catalysts for oil refining, the housing market and other sectors. The right individual will have a can-do attitude, the ability to be part of a team while operating independently, and consistently performs to very high standards. The HR Specialist is an entry-level human resource role supporting a growing chemical manufacturing organization with over 500 employees across 33 plant locations. This position provides hands-on exposure to core HR functions, including employee relations, investigations, compliance support, onboarding, and day-to-day HR operations. The role requires regular travel to plant locations to support managers and employees and to assist with employee investigations and HR initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to build a strong foundation in a fast-paced, multi-site manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of HR experience or relevant internships (manufacturing or multi-site experience a plus)
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to plant locations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to employee relations or investigations
  • HRIS experience
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification (or interest in pursuing)
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or chemical environments

Responsibilities

  • Assist with employee relations matters, including intake, documentation, and follow-up
  • Participate in and support employee investigations related to conduct, policy violations, and workplace concerns
  • Travel to plant locations to conduct interviews and gather information as needed
  • Maintain accurate, confidential investigation records and summaries
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee HR-related questions (policies, procedures, benefits, etc.)
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new hires across multiple locations
  • Assist with offboarding processes, including exit interviews and documentation
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HRIS systems
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Assist in policy communication and acknowledgments
  • Support audits, reporting, and documentation related to HR compliance
  • Build relationships with plant leadership and employees
  • Provide on-site HR support during visits to manufacturing facilities
  • Assist with HR initiatives related to safety culture, engagement, and communication
  • Support HR projects related to growth, organizational changes, and process improvements
  • Assist with training coordination and documentation
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned
