About The Position

The HR Specialist will help lead operations within our Human Resources department, supporting both the casino and tribal office. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist with benefits administration, HRIS/UKG system management, and leave of absence processes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional employee support. Ideal candidates have experience in HR operations, benefits, and HR systems, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information. Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in benefits, HRIS, or HR operations
  • Ability to audit, analyze, and maintain accurate HR data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with HR systems, reporting, and data management
  • Team member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience supporting benefits administration and/or leave of absence processes strongly preferred
  • Experience working with an HRIS system, preferably UKG or similar

Responsibilities

  • Support HR team with administrative and operational tasks
  • Assist with policy interpretation and employee inquiries
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency within HR
  • Support day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.)
  • Support open enrollment preparation, communication, and execution
  • Conduct regular audits of employee profiles, job data, and system entries to ensure data integrity
  • Assist with HR Coordinators with troubleshooting system issues and escalating as needed
  • Partner with HR team to ensure compliance with data governance standards
  • Assist in the administration of employee leaves (FMLA, personal leaves, etc.)
  • Track leave requests, documentation, and return-to-work processes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and tribal regulations
