About The Position

Keep our communities fed. Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our offices - every employee of C&S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As a Human Resources Representative, you will be responsible for providing administrative and operational HR support to a warehouse, business unit, or function. You will work hands-on and in partnership with the Human Resources Business Partner to deliver results for the business. This will include supporting the execution of performance management strategy, cultivating a positive new employee experience, and helping drive employee engagement initiatives. This role will work hand-in-hand with Talent Acquisition partners to ensure that the Company remains an employer of choice for potential candidates.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of Human Resources experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience working in a unionized setting is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources related laws and regulations.
  • Prior experience working in warehousing, distribution, or manufacturing is preferred.
  • The ability to work with a high volume of employees.
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work independently when required, as well as the drive to succeed and a self-starter mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to identify and handle priority and sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing for and facilitating new hire orientation.
  • Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with all laws and regulations regarding work eligibility (I-9 compliance, labor postings, etc.).
  • Assisting with HR programs that support the business objectives and key performance priorities of the business unit.
  • Supporting key HR initiatives, including talent management, training, succession planning, workforce planning, performance management, and salary reviews.
  • Coordinating HR and Company initiatives that enhance engagement, performance, and retention (e.g., company surveys, community events, recognition).
  • Assisting HR Business Partners with employee relations investigations.
  • Ensuring sensitive information remains confidential at all times.
  • Challenging the status quo by innovating current processes and any ad hoc projects as assigned.
