The HR Programs & Projects Specialist supports implementation of HR programs and activities including documentation, reporting, coordination of training and tracking efforts, and collaborating with campus partners. This role is essential in fostering a thriving campus community designed to enhance well-being, collaboration, innovation, and career growth. The mission is to build and empower an engaged workforce to advance the university's mission. The position involves planning, managing, and supporting the implementation of benefit programs and other related initiatives, including Fiscal Year initiatives, Optional Retirement Plans, and the Employee Self-Service projects.

  • Plan, manage, and support the implementation of benefit programs and other related initiatives.
  • Coordinate processes, documentation, and reporting while serving as a benefits data analyst.
  • Oversee benefit department processes by tracking reports related to eligibility, warnings, and errors.
  • Collect and compile key benefits metrics and data from various sources.
  • Deliver internal training on new programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Serve as back-up support for team members during open enrollment periods.
  • Assist with testing and quarterly patch updates for Bronco Hub/HCM.
  • Handle employee benefit transactions for each payroll.
  • Review retro payments for each payroll.
  • Assist with Imputed Income Reconciliation at the end of the calendar year.
  • Support the monthly reconciliation of benefit vendor accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience equal to 6 years.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects effectively while delegating work efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving benefits administration labor.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits principles, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
  • At least one year of work experience using Excel.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS and similar human resource management software.
  • 12 paid holidays AND the University is closed between Christmas and New Year's.
  • Between 12-24 annual paid vacation days for full-time Professional and Classified staff depending on position type and years of service.
