About The Position

The HR/Payroll Specialist at Holiday Market in Royal Oak, MI, is responsible for managing payroll processes and various HR functions for a team of 300 employees. This full-time position requires a versatile candidate with experience in payroll processing and HR management, who can effectively multitask and foster a family-oriented work environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in HR and payroll processing.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in office suite programs.
  • Experience with payroll processing programs, specifically DM Payroll Solutions and NOVA time clock.
  • Knowledge of employment and labor law.

  • Experience in accounting (1 year preferred).
  • Ability to commute or relocate to Royal Oak, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for onboarding of all new employees and completing required paperwork for employee departures.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and fully resolve employee conflicts to heighten employee retention and satisfaction.
  • Convey medical, dental, and vision benefit information to staff and complete enrollment procedures.
  • Coordinate and facilitate open enrollment for employee benefits.
  • Facilitate pre-payroll audit and payroll processing for 300+ employees across multiple locations.
  • Approve employees who qualify for FMLA, document number of days utilized, and assist employees with STD and LTD claims.
  • Complete 401K processing in partnership with the holding financial institution and assist with annual 401 audits.
  • Receive, review, and process unemployment claims, handle disputes, and participate in dispute interviews as necessary.
  • Record and track OSHA and workman comp claims, reporting all job-related injuries to the State.
  • Complete all State and Federal Wage and Labor statistic reports.
  • Assist in filing 5500 forms for Health and retirement plans to appropriate agencies.
  • Keep up to date on all Labor Laws and any upcoming changes to ensure compliance.
