About The Position

The HR/Payroll Coordinator at Fairlawn Health & Rehabilitation of Cascadia is responsible for managing on-site human resources and payroll functions. This role involves collaborating with the Chief Executive Officer to implement and monitor HR policies and procedures, maintaining employee relations from hiring to termination, and coordinating HR programs and employee benefits. The Coordinator ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations while maintaining accurate personnel files and processing payroll.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
  • One year of human resources and/or payroll experience required.
  • Six months experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations related to employees and patients.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of all human resources functions and employment laws preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle on-site human resources and payroll functions for the facility.
  • Consult with facility leadership to ensure positive employee relations practices.
  • Collaborate with the Home Office Human Resources Department to implement programs and initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain all employee personnel files in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Conduct background checks on potential hires.
  • Enter employee, payroll, or benefit changes into company systems.
  • Assist management with action plans for HR-related improvements.
  • Process payroll and submit employee time cards and change forms to Home Office.
  • Ensure annual performance reviews are conducted by supervisors.
  • Maintain records and report on-site injuries to worker's compensation carriers.
  • Manage the recruitment process for the facility as a field partner for talent acquisition.
  • Assist with open enrollment and new hire onboarding processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employment-related matters.
