About The Position

FPWA engages in research and analysis-driven policymaking and advocacy; program and practice testing to inform policy change; strengthening capacity to build more effective and responsive organizations; and, raising awareness, educating and mobilizing on the issues and policies that most impede economic security and well-being. POSITION OVERVIEW: The HR Operations Intern provides support to Human Resource and Operations Team at FPWA under the guidance of the Director of HR & Operations. In this role, they will be exposed to all areas of HR including onboarding, benefits, employee engagement, training and operations.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree program with interest in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Strong communicator who enjoys working with people and solving problems.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Experience working with BambooHR a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on projects that improve employee experience, such as updating processes or creating internal guides.
  • Support employee inquiries, answering day-to-day questions and directing employees to the right resources.
  • Contribute to engagement and training efforts: researching training resources, trends, best practices and providing recommendations around development, recognition and retention.
  • Support the team by researching labor law trends and best practices to help update internal guides and policies.
  • Provide administrative support for employee engagement and internal communication within BambooHR (FPWA’s HRIS) Community, including coordinating with outside departments on announcements, updates and recognition posts.
  • Assist in maintaining employee records and ensuring data accuracy within BambooHR.
  • Keen interest in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit operations.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
