About The Position

The Human Resource Manager at Woodgrain is responsible for leading and providing functional expertise in human resources to the Huttig Team in ATL DC. This role focuses on achieving business performance objectives through effective HR planning, development, coaching, recruiting, and problem-solving in a supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resource management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Human Resource Manager.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Experience with SAP and SharePoint preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions.
  • Active listening skills to understand others' points of view.
  • Judgment and decision-making skills to choose appropriate actions.
  • Negotiation skills to reconcile differences among team members.
  • Time management skills to manage one's own time and others' time effectively.
  • Monitoring skills to assess performance and make improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Run a paperless HR function and seek automated HR solutions.
  • Perform HR duties and responsibilities safely while leading by example.
  • Manage the division's recruiting team and oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Support the team consistently and develop, design, and administer HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Consult with and mentor managers on employee relations issues and administer appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support and train new HR or recruiting hires.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in bi-weekly payroll, including timesheets.
  • Maintain data and reports for division leaders and update spreadsheets for management regarding labor costs and department needs.
  • Communicate and perform all disciplinary actions and terminations of team members.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to team member personnel files and other HR-related documents.
  • Assist the Director of HR as needed.
