About The Position

The HR Manager at Koons Automotive Group will be based out of a dealership location and is expected to be in the office five days a week. This role involves regular travel to various assigned Koons Automotive locations. The HR Manager will report to the HR Director and will have one direct report, an HR Specialist. Key relationships include General Managers and operational leadership at Koons Automotive dealerships, Regional Support Teams, Shared Services Team, Corporate Communications and Public Relations team, and external HR vendors and consultants.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of broad human resources leadership experience in multi-site environments.
  • Proven experience improving HR operations across multiple locations, ideally in complex, multi-site organizations undergoing rapid growth and integration.
  • Strong track record of driving retention and reducing team member turnover.
  • Proven capability to develop and implement targeted strategies that effectively address retention challenges.
  • Deep understanding of HR best practices, policies, and compliance.
  • Recognized for expertise in developing, communicating, and enforcing human resource policies and procedures that drive compliance and enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience navigating complex regulatory and team member relations environments.
  • Proven expertise addressing complex regulatory and team member relations matters.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local employment laws while keeping abreast of industry trends.
  • Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with frontline team members and team members at all levels.
  • Partner with the Regional Leadership Team to provide support to the dealerships.
  • Develop organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues.
  • Review and make recommendations to the Sr. Director for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures, and practices on team member matters.
  • Communicate changes in the organization's team member policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance.
  • Provide consultation and training to management on human resource matters.
  • Plan, design, and develop human resource-related initiatives that support the organization's mission.
  • Take a leadership role in developing a culture that enables team members to perform in a professional and safe work environment.
  • Participate on committees and special projects and seek additional responsibilities.
  • Partner with other HR departments to accomplish all HR department goals and initiatives.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
