About The Position

GAP is the longest established gastroenterology practice in the Piedmont Triad area. This independent, physician-owned GI practice is looking for an HR Manager. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll oversight, performance management, and compliance with employment laws and healthcare regulations. The HR Manager partners with leadership to build a positive workplace culture, support employee engagement and retention, and ensure the practice maintains compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific regulations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or management role preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare or physician practice environments strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the HR advisor to leadership on workforce strategy, employee relations and organizational development.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and programs that support the practice's operational and strategic objectives.
  • Lead HR initiatives focused on recruitment, retention, employee engagement and professional development.
  • Analyze workforce data and HR metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Develops and oversees employee engagement initiatives, including the planning and execution of employee events, recognition programs and team-building activities.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment including workforce planning, job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Develop retention strategies and career development pathways.
  • Oversees and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and terminations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations when necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations issues including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Manage employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and supplemental benefits.
  • Coordinate annual benefits renewals and open enrollment.
  • Ensure competitive compensation practices aligned with market benchmarks.
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws including FLSA and overtime regulations
  • Ensure proper handling of employee status changes, pay adjustments, bonuses, and PTO balances.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC regulations and OSHA, etc.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements affecting employees.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Support workplace safety programs and workers’ compensation processes.
  • Participate in performance evaluation processes and leadership coaching as needed.
  • Assist managers with performance improvement plans and corrective actions.
  • Develop and coordinate employee training and professional development programs in conjunction with department managers.
  • Maintain HRIS systems and employee data integrity.
  • Monitor HR metrics including turnover, recruitment timelines, and employee engagement indicators.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
