This role manages employee relations, performance management, recruiting, and workforce planning while ensuring policy compliance and accurate HR metrics. The position partners with EHS on safety and workers’ compensation efforts and drives employee engagement initiatives to support a positive, high-performing workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • At least 1-3 years of prior experience as a Human Resource Manager, 2-4 years of experience in a Human Resource Generalist or Human Resource Business Partner, or combination of education, experience, and certification.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or SHRM-SCP, SPHR highly preferred.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in a high turnover, employee-facing setting such as manufacturing, retail, or similar industry
  • Experience in all HR concentration areas such as benefits; compensation; talent management; workforce planning; employee relations; safety and security; employee development; and training.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Flexibility to shift hours as needed to meet business needs

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits ownership and shows accountability for all HR functions at the plant level.
  • Provides day to day Human Resources support to the workforce through employee engagement on the plant floor, responding to questions/inquiries in a timely manner and working to resolve concerns as soon as identified.
  • Advises managers and supervisors on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes. Shows strong aptitude for documentation on these matters.
  • Manages the full performance management process including; performance reviews, disciplinary actions, coaching, and employee development.
  • Owns the workforce planning process including identifying staff vacancies, determining staffing priorities, recruit, interview and select applicants.
  • Partners with staffing agencies when necessary, maintains and reports accurate time records for temporary employees.
  • Maintains accurate records of required HR metrics and can speak to the "why" behind the numbers.
  • Guides and supports employees through FMLA, LOA, and Short-Term Disability related leaves and coordinates required return to work protocols. Maintains timely, accurate documentation throughout this process.
  • Partner with EHS Manager on all health and safety related matters including accident investigations, workers’ compensation, and other conditions that could affect employee health or performance.
  • Takes an active role in the development, implementation, and execution of employee engagement initiatives.
