About The Position

Founded in Denmark, BMS Heavy Cranes is a global player in crane solutions for wind energy, industrial and infrastructure projects. Moving some of the world’s most ambitious projects, BMS Heavy Cranes is growing fast in the United States and is now looking for a HR Manager in the U.S. to take full ownership of the HR function and help scale the company with structure, compliance, purpose and care for all employees. BMS Heavy Cranes' U.S. operations have expanded rapidly—from just two cranes to 20+ cranes in only a few years—supported by a growing team of more than 70 employees. You will be joining a close-knit, international team where every hire makes an impact, and where you will have the opportunity to design and lead HR processes and compliance that support long-term success. The U.S. team operates with a strong spirit of entrepreneurship, backed by deep technical expertise and a collaborative culture. Furthermore, you will be a part of the global HR and Resource Team that operates from BMS Heavy Cranes’ headquarters in Denmark.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of HR experience with strong generalist or HR Manager background.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. employment law, compliance and multi-state HR practices.
  • Experience with benefits, workers comp and employee relations.
  • Proven ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong cultural adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-scaling, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; comfortable preparing presentations and training sessions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction, cranes or industrial services.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead all day-to-day HR operations, including compliance, onboarding, employee relations, terminations and record-keeping.
  • Oversee and administer benefits programs, including health, dental, disability, retirement plans, PTO and required filings.
  • Support recruiting and hiring processes across roles and levels.
  • Partner with leadership to design and implement policies, performance reviews and compensation structures.
  • Manage workers’ compensation cases and support health & safety compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and culture champion in a cross-cultural environment (U.S. & EU).
  • Oversee resource management, including one assistant.
  • Conduct and support training programs for managers and employees.
  • Audit and improve current onboarding and training processes, including e-learning and certification tracking.
