About The Position

The HR Manager at WestRock will play a crucial role in the Consumer Packaging Human Resources team, overseeing various HR functions including employee relations, training and development, compensation, recruitment, and performance management. This position involves advising management on HR policies, implementing corporate HR initiatives, and leading change management efforts to enhance organizational effectiveness and culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or a related Business degree.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a Human Resources business partner or generalist role.
  • Experience in manufacturing and field/site HR operations.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and HRIS software.
  • Ability to objectively investigate and resolve employee conflicts.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including negotiation and collaboration.
  • Strong time management, project planning, and organizational skills.

  • Experience collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs).
  • Interest in understanding financial and operational aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations and communication within the organization.
  • Oversee training and development programs for employees.
  • Administer compensation and recruitment processes.
  • Support performance management and worker’s compensation initiatives.
  • Advise management on HR policies and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Lead and develop a small HR team to achieve performance excellence.
  • Analyze HR operations for continuous improvement and operational performance enhancement.
  • Foster a positive company culture and drive diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI&B) initiatives.
  • Facilitate change management processes and support stakeholders during transitions.
  • Develop strategic actions that align with the organization’s goals.
