About The Position

Human Resource Generalist Nonexempt | Hourly | Part-Time Part-Time: 28 hours per week; Monday-Thursday Responsibilities In coordination with the Executive Pastor and Business Director, develop effective strategies to address appropriate performance expectations from staff at all levels. Design and implement ongoing development opportunities for non-ministry staff, including paths for advancement or position enlargement. Assist in creating an energized staff. Coordinate all facets of employee life-cycle, including: Assist with job postings, candidate screenings, and interview scheduling Conduct new hire onboarding Coordinate organization-wide basic training seminars, conducting as requested Develop and maintain employee recognition program(s) Coordinate annual employee Connections Exercise and monitor departmental 1:1 feedback process Assist the Business Director with employee transitions as needed Assist in the administration of all employee benefit programs Manage open and new hire enrollments, changes, terminations, and FMLA Act as a liaison between benefit brokers/providers and employees to resolve benefit-related issues and file disability and worker’s compensation claims Coordinate employee background clearances Process semi-monthly time and attendance records, including review of online timecards and paid-time-off requests Revise, edit, and maintain the Employee Handbook Perform customer service functions by researching and answering employee requests and questions Assist Business Director with external and internal reporting, marketplace salary surveys, and special projects Prepare, manage, and maintain personnel and benefits files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Backup accounting department with time, attendance records, including review of online timecards,and paid time off requests. Assist the Business Director with employee recognition, celebrations, and Christmas/Annual employee parties.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; Experience with Microsoft 365
  • Ability to quickly learn new database or software systems
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Organized to manage multiple project simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of experience in the Human Resources field or similar experience
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
