About The Position

8Fleet is hiring. 8Fleet is a rapidly growing LA based technology and logistics startup building the operational infrastructure for both autonomous and non autonomous rideshare fleets. With our anticipated growth, we’re searching for a driven HR Generalist to join our People team and help support a large, fast moving non exempt workforce. You’ll play a pivotal role in keeping our people operations running smoothly as we scale. We are looking for an LA-based HR Generalist who is excited to build strong People Operations foundations and support a dynamic frontline workforce. Your work will sit at the center of payroll administration, onboarding, employee support, HRIS upkeep, and core compliance. You’ll partner closely with operations leadership to ensure our employees have a consistent, accurate, and high quality experience across the entire employment lifecycle. Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of HR or People Operations experience, ideally with hourly or non exempt populations
  • Strong foundation in payroll, timekeeping, or HRIS administration
  • Experience working with modern HR tools like Rippling and When I Work
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort handling sensitive employee data
  • Ability to thrive in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Low ego, service oriented, and committed to operational excellence
  • Clear, friendly communicator who builds trust quickly

Responsibilities

  • Assist the HR Manager in developing and implementing recruitment strategies.
  • Manage job postings on various platforms and conduct initial resume screening.
  • Schedule interviews, coordinate candidate communications, and administer pre-employment assessments.
  • Support the offer letter generation and background check processes.
  • Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) and recruitment metrics.
  • Actively source candidates for various manufacturing and administrative roles.
  • Facilitate the new hire onboarding process, including preparing new hire paperwork, conducting HR orientations, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Coordinate offboarding procedures, including exit interviews and final paperwork.
  • Assist the HR Manager in resolving employee relations issues, including investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both physical and within the HRIS.
  • Process HR-related paperwork (e.g., new hires, changes, terminations).
  • Assist with benefits administration inquiries and enrollment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepare HR-related reports as needed.
  • Assist with the administration of performance review cycles.
  • Support managers with performance documentation and goal setting.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis for compensation reviews.
  • Coordinate logistics for training programs and workshops.
  • Assist in identifying training needs and resources.
  • Support payroll processing, including timecard review, corrections, and approvals
  • Validate hours, overtime, differentials, PTO, and adjustments to ensure accurate and timely pay
  • Partner with operations managers to resolve timekeeping discrepancies
  • Maintain clean data across HRIS, timekeeping, and PEO systems
