The position is based at our headquarters in Northbrook, IL reporting to the Sr. HR Manager for the Corporate team. Overall Purpose: The Human Resource Generalist is a hands-on position that will play a critical role in driving HR initiatives that align with business objectives, fostering a positive employee experience and supporting organizational growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of HR experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Comfortable with a hybrid onsite/virtual role with the expectation that you are in the office 3x per week.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, aligning HR strategies with business priorities.
  • Partner with leaders to provide guidance in performance management, employee engagement, and employee relations.
  • Manage HR and leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, STD and LTD.
  • Support leaders throughout the recruitment process to attract and hire top talent.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll responsibilities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely approval of payroll data.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for enterprise-wide vendors for facilities and background checks.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures for routine HR initiatives such as AAP filing, unemployment requests, and corporate communications.
  • Assist in planning and executing engagement opportunities and cultural initiatives including corporate wide events like our town halls.
  • Utilize data such as employee surveys to assist leaders in developing engagement strategies in support of maintaining or elevating IDEX’s position as an employer of choice
  • Lead process improvement projects and change management initiatives related to onboarding, offboarding, HR operating rhythms (goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end evaluations), and other key HR processes.
  • Oversee HRIS data for the corporate team to ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports, metrics, and surveys as requested.
