About The Position

SUMMARY Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist provides day-to-day support across a variety of HR functions, including HR administration, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, training, and compliance. This role ensures accurate HR processes, supports employee experiences, and assists in implementing HR programs to help the organization operate smoothly and effectively. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS HR Administration: Maintain and audit the HRIS (Paylocity) to ensure data accuracy and integrity, including employee records, pay changes, benefits elections, PTO, and employment status updates. Serve as a technical and functional HR resource by responding to employee and manager inquiries, troubleshooting HRIS, PTO, and benefits issues, and resolving routine HR questions. Configure, manage, and support HRIS workflows and PTO processes, including setup, maintenance, and issue resolution. Perform day-to-day HR administrative functions, including processing new hires, job changes, terminations, benefits enrollment, and maintaining HR forms and handbook updates. Lead the annual open enrollment process and administer employee benefit programs (health, dental, life, disability, HSA/FSA, EAP, 401(k), PTO, FMLA, and other leave programs), ensuring accurate and timely processing through HRIS and vendor portals. Manage and promote employee wellness initiatives in alignment with company benefits and engagement goals. Support the employee offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews. Assist the HR Manager with employee relations activities. Recruiting and Onboarding: Support recruiting efforts by conducting initial candidate phone screens and assisting with pre-employment and hiring activities. Coordinate onboarding activities after clearance to start, including scheduling start dates, collecting employment documentation, updating HRIS records, and facilitating a smooth transition from candidate to employee. Develop and deliver new employee orientation to reinforce company culture, policies, and organizational goals. Monitor new hire progress during the 30/60/90-day onboarding period and conduct stay interviews to support engagement and retention. Training and Development: Administer MN Air University, including updating, tracking and reporting. Participate in and promote continuous learning and development through training initiatives such as MN Air University, HR programs, tech-support courses, and webinars. Compliance and Safety: Lead the company safety program and Safety Committee, including compliance reporting, audits, and maintenance of OSHA logs. Complete first reports of injury, maintain workers’ compensation and injury files, and ensure timely distribution of required OSHA and insurance carrier documentation. Maintain all HR-related records (e.g., personnel, benefits, payroll, OSHA/workers’ compensation), in accordance with confidentiality and access requirements. Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations, researching updates and collaborating with the HR Manager to ensure all policies, HRIS configurations, handbooks, and required postings remain current and compliant. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1 – 3 years of related experience in HR administration, benefits, recruiting, or compliance.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
