About The Position

As a Human Resource Generalist at Pine Rest, you’ll be responsible for performing a broad range of HR-related duties at a professional level and works collaboratively with the HR Manager, HR Director, and other members of the Human Resources team. Pine Rest employs multiple HR Generalists, each of whom supports a combination of functional HR areas based on departmental needs and individual expertise, and whose assignments may shift over time to ensure effective coverage and operational continuity. Primary areas of responsibility may include employee relations and compliance. In addition, the Human Resources Generalist provides backup support in select functions, including credentialing, workers’ compensation, FMLA, recruitment, onboarding, benefits and compensation. The Human Resources Generalist is expected to demonstrate strong customer service skills, adaptability, and enthusiasm for supporting the mission and programs of the Pine Rest organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in business, human resources, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in human resources required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication/customer service skill.
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • High degree of analytical ability, organizational skills, detail orientation and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience working with HRIS software.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a general HR knowledge base in order to effectively respond to general HR, employment, policy, and procedures issues/questions.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping all information confidential.
  • Functions as the HR representative in conducting non-elevated, routine employee relations issues; facilitates corrective actions (attendance, tardiness, missed trainings, etc.).
  • Acts as a second representative on elevated, complex, employee fact findings items (sexual harassment, harassment, etc.).
  • Ensures consistent application of disciplinary process, documentation, and participates in proceedings.
  • Accountable for identifying, prioritizing, and/or responding to requests and issuing resolution using company approved HR tools and techniques within established timelines.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Participates in the delivery of leadership training for newly appointed Pine Rest managers.
  • Serves as the HR representative for Divisional and Departmental Licensing/Accreditation bodies (Joint Commission, CARF, CCI, LRE, etc.).
  • Will lead the audit preparation for the review, serving as the liaison between HR and the Department/Division on missing items needed for the employee file.
  • Conducts audits of new employee files to ensure compliance with documentation and recordkeeping requirements and follows up on deficiencies as needed.
  • Oversees the development and revision of job descriptions to reflect evolving roles, responsibilities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews, updates, and maintains organizational policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws and organizational standards.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and reports information to support operational and compliance needs.
  • Assists the Employee Health & Disability Administrator with flu and TB compliance, tracking, and reporting.
  • Assists with credentialing tasks as needed.
  • Offers support during recredentialing if needed.
  • Offers backup coverage to the Work Comp & FMLA areas during vacation vacancy when needed.
  • During high staffing needs, may step in and support the TA Team, including but not limited to interviewing, sourcing, cold-calling, scheduling, and Onboarding.
  • May assist during benefit open enrollment, compliance and reporting, compensation reviews, and/or data entry.
  • Provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team, including records management (purging terminated employee files), ordering and maintaining compliance postings, reconciling credit card statements, distributing mail, preparing presentations, and coordinating meeting logistics such as lunch orders.
  • Manages the calendar for the Vice President of People, provides front office coverage as needed, supports internal projects, and assists with general departmental coordination and ad hoc requests.
  • Must maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in the required programmatic training.
