About The Position

Primoris T&D provides construction, maintenance, and engineering of electric Transmission, Distribution, and Substation infrastructure. Ancillary services include wireless telecommunication installation, environmental cleanup, project management, and storm restoration services. We’re hiring an HR Generalist to support core HR functions across both field and office teams in a fast‑paced construction environment. This role provides day‑to‑day HR support, helps maintain compliance, and works closely with supervisors and project teams. It’s a great fit for someone who is collaborative, eager to learn, and ready to grow their HR skill set!

Requirements

  • Experience in an HR generalist, HR coordinator, or HR operations role; construction or similar industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with both field and office employees.
  • High attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow your HR capabilities.
  • A team‑oriented mindset and a collaborative approach to problem‑solving.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance.
  • HRIS experience; UKG or Workday familiarity preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad HR support to employees, supervisors, and project teams, ensuring consistent, accurate, and responsive service across all HR functions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues across jobsites and office locations.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and guide supervisors on corrective actions and documentation.
  • Oversee new‑hire vetting, onboarding, and compliance audits to ensure employees are jobsite‑ready.
  • Process personnel actions such as promotions, pay changes, job changes, and terminations.
  • Recruit and hire qualified candidates for both skilled trades and administrative roles; partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, along with construction‑specific requirements such as certifications and safety training records.
  • Keep employee data accurate and up to date in UKG and other HR systems.
  • Prepare recurring HR reports, including the monthly Zero Hours Report.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and other sensitive HR discussions.
  • Support additional HR projects and responsibilities as needed.
