About The Position

Ensurise is seeking a versatile, proactive, and knowledgeable HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR needs for our growing company. As the sole HR representative for our team of just under 50 DMV employees, you will be responsible for compliance, full-cycle talent acquisition, employee onboarding and offboarding, benefit programs and special leave administration, and employee relations. This position reports to the CEO and works closely with the executive team. The ideal candidate thrives in a highly collaborative environment with multiple divisions. This position is hybrid, working out of the Bethesda office as needed. The time commitment for this position is estimated at 10-15 hours per week with potential to expand as the company grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar "hands-on" HR role
  • Solid knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations (FLSA, EEO, ADA, Paid Family Leave etc)
  • High comfort with technology including Microsoft Office, DocuSign, and HRIS/Payroll systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience in a remote work arrangement
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Authorization to work in the United States

  • SHRM or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Manage the full recruiting lifecycle, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling manager interviews, and coordinating and sending offers.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Lead the onboarding process to ensure a compliant and welcoming experience; manage offboarding, exit interviews, and documentation.
  • Employee Relations & Culture: Act as the primary point of contact for employee questions, mediating conflicts, and supporting a positive company culture.
  • Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws; update and maintain the employee handbook.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, secure digital employee records.
  • Benefits: Administer employee benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, ancillary plans, and 401k and assist with payroll data for these plans to ensure accuracy and compliance. Manage open enrollment with our internal broker team.
  • Special Leave Administration: Communicate, coordinate, and document any special leaves or accommodation requests.
  • Performance Management: Support management with performance conversations and improvement plans.
  • Compensation Planning: Support management with market data for pricing roles
