About The Position

The HR Generalist provides responsive, high-quality human resources support that strengthens employee relations, operational consistency, and regulatory compliance across the agency. By partnering with HR leadership and program teams, this role ensures equitable and consistent application of policies and processes, contributing to a workplace where employees are supported and programs can effectively serve communities. The position enables reliable HR operations that sustain organizational stability and workforce readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience
  • Three years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including exposure to employee relations, HR operations, or compliance
  • Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals and standard HR practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build collaborative working relationships across diverse teams
  • Proficiency in standard business software and experience working within HRIS platforms
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written
  • Demonstrates resilience, awareness and self-regulation in navigating challenges, conflict and obstacles/barriers.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance end-user experiences throughout the service lifecycle
  • Successfully completes tasks in a low noise environment
  • Interacts with others and performs tasks in-person and using technology, with long periods of stationary activity and minimal periods of increased physical activity
  • Travels between worksites regularly
  • Meets LCSNW criminal background clearance requirements and other job-relevant clearances as required by the State or program

Responsibilities

  • Support employee and labor relations activities, including documentation, coordination of investigations, corrective action processes, and performance management support
  • Partner with HR leadership and HR Business Partners to implement and uphold policies, procedures, and best practices consistently across departments and programs
  • Administer HR transactions and maintain accurate employee records within HR systems to ensure compliance and data integrity
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a timely, compliant, and positive employee experience
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and systems, providing guidance and appropriate escalation
  • Prepare HR reports and workforce data to support compliance monitoring, audits, and informed decision-making
  • Contribute to HR initiatives and process improvement efforts that enhance operational efficiency and employee engagement
