About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system establishes a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes trauma care with a helipad for emergency transport, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, a NICU, Intensive care, Medical/Surgical care, Telemetry care, and a soon-to-be open ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services. We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist (Full Time-Days) Our ideal candidate will report to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day support of the Human Resources Department. Completes a variety of Human Resources duties required for the department to function including, but not limited to, support for recruitment efforts, onboarding, new employee orientation, personnel file maintenance, personnel actions, ongoing employee support relating to pay, benefits, leaves of absence, policies, and procedures, employee relations, and investigations. Provides the highest level of Service Excellence to all guests in the office and over the phone. Works in a timely and efficient manner in harmony with the Human Resources team providing support to employees at all levels of the organization. Presents issues with resolutions to the Director as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management or related field from an accredited educational institution required.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible human resources management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state Employment Laws.
  • Experience in recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and employment law.
  • HR knowledge of leaves of absences, FMLA, ASSLA, Worker's compensation strongly preferred.
  • HRIS experience required; Performance Management and Applicant Tracking systems experience.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong prioritization, problem solving, organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Responsive in addressing issues and completing projects that require timely management/oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Prior experience with Joint Commission regulations.
