New England Life Care is hiring an HR Generalist to join our growing team! This are full–time, salaried, exempt position with a normal Monday – Friday schedule between the hours of 8:30am until 5:00pm. Job Summary: The HR Generalist manages the administration and compliance of human resources policies, procedures, services, and programs. The HR Generalist must be proficient with the ADP HRIS in order to carryout responsibilities in the following functional employment areas: workers compensation, benefits administration, employment documentation, onboarding, training and development, performance management, rewards and recognition. Although this is a remote position, we are only hiring in the following states: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years general experience in the Human Resources field, OR seven (7) years’ progressively responsible work in the personnel or management field, OR any appropriate combination of education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of / experience with disciplinary process and documentation procedure required.
  • Experience with HR administration, employee benefit and/or payroll administration.
  • Knowledge of the state and federal laws affecting human resources administration required.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security required.
  • Proficiency with ADP, which is NELC’s HRIS required.
  • Proficiency with Benefits Administration/Payroll systems and microcomputer systems such as Microsoft Office: Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Outlook required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills required.
  • Demonstrated management and organizational skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of JCAHO accreditation process a plus.
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with outside resources such as HR Legal Counsel; Worker’s Compensation Board; State Unemployment board preferred.
  • Experience with employee benefit and payroll administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with developing and administering HR programs, procedures and guidelines, operationalizing them to maximize employee experience and operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Assists in establishing policies that seek to improve / maintain employee retention rates and foster employee job satisfaction and high morale.
  • Supports the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for exempt and non-exempt employees seeking to maximize the employee experience, including all pre-employment requirements.
  • Assists with prescreening candidates for adherence to position qualifications, reviews with hiring managers and oversees interview process.
  • Assists in extending offers to candidates in collaboration with the HR Business Partners and Hiring Managers and oversees the entirety of the HR on-boarding process through the general orientation time frame.
  • Processes, reviews, and approves/takes adverse actions on pre-employment background screenings.
  • Conducts and hosts new hire orientation to educate and inform new staff, follows up with new hire questions / concerns, benefits and payroll.
  • Coordinates exit interviews and aggregates data; tracks and provides turnover statistics alongside exit interview data to senior leadership, noting trending departments and positions.
  • Partners with management to communicate human resources policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Runs weekly and monthly employee recognition programs alongside Marketing including staff promotions, quarterly anniversary awards, and staff birthdays.
  • Oversees and manages the Performance Review process including preparing, distributing, analyzing and tracking employee reviews and corresponding merit increases.
  • Assists with Infection Control programs including flu shot documentation, infection control logs, and tracking OSHA fit testing paperwork.
  • Manages clinical compliance requirements including license verification, CPR certifications, annual training programs, and required hospital credentialing.
  • Manages and distributes required annual employee education and regulatory training through our learning and education platform.
  • Assists with the monitoring of company wages and salary structure via demographic wage studies and labor trends
  • Provides day-to-day assistance with benefit administration services.
  • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company human resources policies and governmental laws and regulations via employee handbook and internal posting.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new technology solutions and other opportunities to streamline
