About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years have expanded throughout the Midwest. Job Summary The HR Generalist will support the Human Resources department by maintaining functions such as personnel policies and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in human resources management preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with mediating disputes, terminations, and administering disciplinary procedures
  • Advise managers on employee-related human resource policies, procedures, programs, and laws and recommend changes as needed
  • Gather data, create, and analyze quarterly and annual turnover reports.
  • Gather and maintain affirmative action program information and file EEO-1 reports annually
  • Implement new hire orientation, employee recognition programs, and other related HR programs
  • Investigate employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and /or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other ongoing HR training opportunities
  • Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals
  • Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from database
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
