About The Position

The HR Generalist is responsible for managing the basic human resource functions within our organization. This role partners closely with all leaders and serves as a visible HR presence, both on the production floor and for office staff. It is important that this role fosters a positive and productive work environment both for the employee and company's benefit. The HR Generalist will navigate the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding, while also acting as a trusted advisor to management and employees. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to prioritize and manage diverse tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
  • High degree of confidentiality and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new hires have a smooth and comprehensive introduction to the company.
  • Manage the offboarding process, conduct exit interviews and ensure a smooth transition for departing employees.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns regarding policies, benefits, pay practices.
  • Mediate employee disputes and provide guidance on conflict resolution to managers.
  • Support employee relations matters including attendance, performance, investigations and corrective action.
  • Work with managers and supervisors on effective people management and performance conversations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and well-being.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures consistently and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Regularly review and update policies to reflect evolving business needs and legal requirements.
  • Communicate new policies and processes through various channels to all employees.
  • Administer the company's performance review process.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management best practices.
  • Assist in identifying training and development needs.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes and general benefits education.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate employee data, job changes and timekeeping practices.
  • Support administration of FMLA, ADA accommodations, state leave plans and workers' compensation coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Support compliance activities such as audit requests.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Stay up to date on changes in HR legislation and best practices.
